() - Those post-season bound member teams in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) can now set their sights on the destination where they will compete for the WPSL title. The Chicago Red Stars are set to host the 2011 WPSL National Championship on Saturday-Sunday, July 30-31 at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex in west suburban Lisle, IL.

Game times for the National Semifinals are tentatively scheduled for 1:30 & 3:30 PM (CST) on Saturday, July 30th. The two Semifinal winners will compete in the National Final on Sunday at 1:00 PM (CST). Further details on the 2011 WPSL National Championship will be provided in the coming days.

Even though the host team of the 2011 WPSL National Championship does not automatically qualify for the tournament, Red Stars part-owner & General Manager Arnim Whisler is confident his organization will be gracious hosts - no matter how they fare in this weekend's Midwest Conference playoffs.

"We are thrilled to be able to host the WPSL Championship in Chicago," said Whisler. "We've had a couple good years of practice staging big games for the Red Stars and wanted to make sure the WPSL teams and players had a nice Championship experience. It was a tough call to commit to hosting when we couldn't yet be certain our Red Stars will be in the semifinals, but we are certainly hopeful and confident we'll be playing that weekend."

The National Championship is the showcase event of the WPSL season, and League Commissioner Jerry Zanelli is thrilled to have Chicago as the host team of this year's championship.

"It's been great working with Arnim and the Red Stars this year and hosting our national championship is a class move on their part," said Zanelli. "With the quality of their organization, we know they'll do a fantastic job as hosts for the four teams who will compete for our championship."

Stay tuned for a full WPSL post-season update which will include information on the East and Midwest Conference playoffs that commence this weekend.
